In a career that spanned almost 60 years beginning in 1930, Mae Questal performed the voices (RealAudio File) of Betty Boop and Olive Oyl in the cartoons. Her recording of "On the Good Ship Lollipop" -- in Betty Boop's voice-- sold more than 2 million copies. In her final role in 1989 she played the addled but lovable Aunt Bethany in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation . My son Ryan cracks up every time she does the Pledge of Allegiance instead of grace ("Grace? She died 30 years ago . . .") at the Christmas dinner table.

Awesome! We watched Christmas Vacation just the other day; I had no idea that's who she was!
Speaking of great radio voices, I'm still amazed they got E.G. Marshall to be in that movie as well!
