Bruce Woolley, Trevor Horn, and Geoffrey Downes wrote Video Killed the Radio Star, broke up, Woolley formed the Camera Club, Horn and Downes formed The Buggles and went on to trivia immortality as the performers of the first video ever on MTV. Too bad. I've always agreed with Trouser Press which called The Buggles' work "technically stunning, reasonably catchy and crashingly hollow." But lucky for us aging baby boomers that they've re-issued the 1979 album by Bruce Woolley and the Camera Club. My favorite album of all time.

Some things about Rod Johnson
As for Rod, well I hope he is sleeping peacefully and lets just leave it there. What I can tell you is that I went to school with him and from about 15 to 22 we hung out together all the time with a small bunch of pals including Steve E. (Hi Steve hope you are well if you see this). By the way his full name was Rod Berridale Johnson. I continued to see Rod but less frequently as he got into playing drums (first kit Ludwig). Rod grew up in the Surrey countryside and around 13 moved to Stoneleigh in Surrey where we would all hang out at his mum’s house. We would listen to bands such as Ashra Temple (German electro group) check out the albums seven up and staring Rose and Tod Rundgren who influenced Rod a lot. He in those days was a bit of a late hippy as we all were. Long hair and beads before upgrading the look that you probably remember him by. We went to Wandsworth comprehensive school and while there Rod became a very good artist and painted which he enjoyed. We did all the things you do then like going to Glastonbury and thinking about changing the world. Rod played drums with various friends joining a few groups. He went on to join a band called Straight Eight where he recorded on a single (I can’t remember the title) and I think that Tom Dolby was also in the band. Later in his life Rod went to live in India for a while where he took lots of photos and when he returned to England started a picture library. I was given a DVD recently with some cinne camera film of Rod, myself and some other people we knew at a friends 18th birthday party. He looks young happy and cool. It makes me smile when I see it and this is how I like to remember him as do some of our old mates who I am still in contact with. I hope my ramblings are of some interest to you and maybe I have filled in a few gaps. Sleep well Rod.

The US version of "Bruce Woolley and the Camera Club" is my favorite album of all time. BW is the most underated act of recent times. I have managed to buy on Ebay various vinyl 7" and extra copies of the LP. But recently I eBayed "Bruce Woolley The Collection" on CD. It contains several songs that weren't on the original LP, 7" versions of a couple of the songs that were on the LP plus 2 tracks by "The Killers". The label is "Carlin Music Corp./Street Music Ltd." I still have my fingers crossed that the orginal LP will be released on CD. As a side note, Bruce appears on a show hosted by Trevor Horn that still plays on VH1 occasionally called "25 years of Pop". Bruce, Trevor Horn and several other orignal Buggles do a brilliant performance of "Video Killed the Radio Star" on this show - I believe from 2005.

do a wikipedia search on Bruce Wooley and you won't feel like he disappeared or didn't do anything. What he has been up to since the Camera CLub is surprising and impressive.. I loved this record when it came out. Saw him open for Lene Lovich back in late 70;s...what a over the top show that was!He was( and Lene too) were explosions of New Wave energy.

Lots of specialists argue that loans help people to live their own way, because they are able to feel free to buy necessary things. Moreover, a lot of banks offer credit loan for young and old people.

It's good that we are able to receive the credit loans and that opens completely new possibilities.

The album is one of my all time favs and I just recently spent almost $40 Canadian to purchase a Origonal CD and LP on Ebay. I just had to have them!
Woolley had a great voice! I would be curious to know if he has done anything after or where he is.

That's known that cash makes people disembarrass. But what to do when somebody has no cash? The one way is to get the credit loans or credit loan.
