Kewpie Doll

From The Vermont Country Store:

Created in 1909 by turn-of-the-century artist Rosie O'Neill, the Kewpie doll first appeared as a cartoon drawing that eventually evolved into one of the most loved dolls in history. This fine reproduction celebrates the charm and popularity of the Kewpie, which at one time was a sought after prize at carnivals and amusement parks.

I had heard these mentioned a million times, but I had no idea what they really were.
