An excerpt from Mark Belling:
What a surprise - the tire slashers got away with it.
Despite overwhelming evidence of their guilt, the five men accused of vandalizing vehicles to be used by Republicans on Election Day in 2004 will face no punishment at all. Four of them are now convicted criminals but the plea bargain they cut with Milwaukee County District Attorney Michael McCann calls for no jail time. The outcome of this case is final proof that not only do Wisconsin Democrats regularly cheat to win elections but that the majority of them approve of the tactic.
What was the reaction of most Democrats to the verdict? Glee. That ought to tell you something. They are happy the slashers got away with it. For the same reason they refuse to crack down on Election Day abuses (photo identification for voting, ending same-day registration), they are elated that the well-connected goons who sabotaged a voter mobilization effort will face no consequences for their actions.
Why did they get away with it? Answer: Because everybody involved here was a Democrat. Several jurors adamantly refused to vote for a conviction, resulting in a note being sent to the judge that they were deadlocked. Which party do you figure those "holdouts" belong to? The immediate reaction from McCann was to cut a deal that allowed the defendants to escape all responsibility. What party does McCann belong to? He’s a Democrat. The key prosecution witnesses mumbled and fumbled through their testimony. Of what political party are they major officials? Yup, the Democrats.
We had Democrats accusing Democrats that were prosecuted by a Democrat and a jury laden with Democrats. Justice never had a chance.
