Attention Appleton, Wisconsin City Attorney James P. Walsh: I Have Photographic Evidence of Madison, Wisconsin Resident Michael Leon Urinating On The Grave of Senator Joseph R. McCarthy in St. Mary's Cemetery In Violation of the Appleton Municipal Code Sec. 10-45
This photograph is also found here:
As you know, The Municipal Code of the City of Appleton, Wisconsin reads:
Sec. 10-45. Urinating or defecating in public.
No person shall urinate or defecate outside of any designated sanitary facilities, upon any sidewalk, street, alley, public parking lot or ramp, park, playground, cemetery, or other public area or upon any private property in open view of the public or in the halls, rooms without restroom facilities, stairways or elevators of public or commercial buildings.
(Ord 139-01, §1, 8-20-01)
I am forwarding this information to City Attorney James P. Walsh of the City of Appleton at the email address found on his web page, which is webat@appleton.org.
I would encourage others so inclined to email Mr. Walsh as well.

Actually his friends years ago had him dug up and reinterred in a shallow, unmarked grave.

Any serious comments?
Posted by: Tom McMahon | 06/16/2009 at 06:09 AM
Sure, here's a serious comment: I am much more concerned about the Bush administration pissing on the Constitution; radio quacks pissing on the truth; etc. Much more concerned about that -- and the evidence isn't quite so vague. Peace.

But Mike, that argument essentially boils down to: "People who agree with me should be allowed to break the law." Probably not what you meant, but it's what it sounds like.
Posted by: Tom McMahon | 06/16/2009 at 12:55 PM
It's what he meant. Just read his blog if you want clarification.
p.s. Bush is gone. It's Obama's turn to piss all over the Constitution. And he's meeting expectations.

Such a profile pic might make his equally-juvenile lefty fans giggle, but it tells me all I need to know about the value of Leon's writing.

I suppose you're going to tell us that road-tripping there and spilling a little malt liquor in honor is against the law, too? Cuz I remember a few College Republicans who thought that was a lot of fun.

Mr. McMahon,
Thanks for the note.
Your legal analysis is off as there is no prosecutable violation of the municipal code you cite from you evidence that you present.
I do admire your trying though; the law should be examined and critiqued by lay people for whom afterall the law exists.
Your larger point, as implied, is arguable. FYI, within two days of your posting, some 14 visits to my site at http://malcontends.blogspot.com/ came from Appleton. Maybe Birchers, maybe the City Atty’s office, who knows. Maybe right-wing no-nothings to whom the depiction is anathema to some private taboo morality.
A wise friend once said to me, “Even the worst of us should have some modicum of peace and dignity when we have succumbed to that ultimate indignity, the grave. … I say, ‘Never offend with style when you can offend with substance.’”
Interesting point.
I disagree. But do allow that one would have to sink to an extreme level of infamy in life to merit such a depiction as pissing on one’s grave in death. As the radical pacifist A.J. Muste once said: "If you can't love Hitler, you can't love anybody." Same sentiment as what my cited wise friend.
I do recommend others’ ensuring a healthy level of uric acid on the ground at the late Sen. Joe McCarthy’s grave at St. Mary's Cemetery (2121 W. Prospect Ave, along the Fox River), as they see fit, in accordance with appropriate laws and ordinances.
How about you, Mr. McMahon? Is Joe McCarthy an utter slime that should be remembered in infamy and disgrace for the contemtapable public harm he has disingenuously caused?
Do you admire this guy?
Keep writing; you’re a fine stylist.
Best,
MAL

So what you're saying, Michael, is that you really didn't piss on his grave? I guess I'm not surprised.
Posted by: Tom McMahon | 07/05/2009 at 09:29 PM
Not saying. Only God and unholy Joe know for sure.
Though it's conceivable Roy Cohn is in the know as well, contemplating his and my sins from the fiery depths of hell.
But I do admit to being a fellow traveler and have read numerous books on labor history. Hell, I think Harry Bridges was a great American.
Cheer up, sport.
Peace-out baby.

I guess that to receive the mortgage loans from creditors you should have a firm reason. However, once I've received a collateral loan, just because I was willing to buy a car.

Really well-written article. I'm jealous I didn't think of the topic. But yeah, the bowl games are really for the big games... everything else is just another way to suck the blood out of these kids and samll universities. Kinda sad.
But if you ARE going to go and get tickets, you might as well find yourself the best deal. I found this really cool website when digging around for tix to my game:

I had a desire to make my own commerce, however I did not earn enough of cash to do that. Thank goodness my mate told to utilize the loan. So I used the auto loan and realized my dream.
