I find blogging relaxing and interesting. I have not monetized my site but if I had the traffic, I would.

Blogging has done three things for me:
a) it has opened up a whole new social networking world;
b) I use it for myself to quickly find things I want to see/hear again; and,
c) when friends ask me for information a particular subject, I don't have to write a long note -- I just link it to one of my posts.

Mainstream media has missed the "why" of blogging. And amateur blogging sites are generally a thousand times better than commercial sites -- does anyone read Anderson Cooper any more?
