When I Was Young:

The first question I would ask: Does this make sense?

• If it didn't, I would stop right there. No need to go further.
• If it did, I would go on to ask: Is it true?

Now that I'm older:

The first question I ask: Is it true?

• If it isn't, I stop right there. No need to go further.
• If it is, I go on to ask: Does it make sense?
