In the documentary, "The War At Home", I recall somebody saying that the noise of the explosion woke them up and their first thought was "there went Army Math." So I suppose 'everybody' knew it was going to happen but nobody knew (or admitted knowing) the psychopaths who were going to do it to tell them: don't. In the end, all that was accomplished was a few days delay at AMRC and endless heartbreak for a family and their friends.
